[edit] personality

There had been a time where Emeline Jones was the stoic spoiled daughter of two insanely rich business people. From the moment she was considered old enough to wear a mini-skirt, she has been in the media’s spotlight, something that has never left her since. Rarely smiling in her photos had earned her a reputation of being a miserable woman who was too preoccupied with her image to bother with appearing like a normal human being. She bounced from relationship to relationship, each one involving either a very attractive man or a very popular one. From male models to upstanding political figures, Emeline’s various relationships led to one rumour or another and over time, and her “mysterious” pregnancy at the ripe age of twenty-six when she wasn’t seeing anyone fuelled those rumours.

Since she was a small girl, Emeline had been led to believe that she was incapable of expressing any sort of human emotion. Her mother was convinced that her daughter was damaged in some way, and thus took it upon herself to teach the girl how to convey emotions just like any other “normal” person. It was perhaps these lessons that Marianne imbedded into Emeline that caused the young girl to be so very stand-offish throughout school and yet she managed to maintain a rather good social standing. For anyone who made fun of her, Emeline only had apathy to give them in return as she continued about her day. That disinterest in bothering with such people had been perceived as confidence and had been the key to her popularity throughout her school years. Well, that and her fashionable styles.

But Emeline had her problems when it came to other people. She was never very good at openly showing certain emotions, such as compassion. If someone had just lost a relative and decided it was a good idea to whinge and act like a complete moron to Emeline, they would very quickly find themselves slapped in the face with her very firm proclamation that she was not going to deal with them until they pulled their head out of their ass. She was never the type to sit around and wait for someone to approach her about something if they took issue with her and her habits. Always the one to get up in someone’s face in a very brusque manner when irritated with someone, it was a wonder she managed to hold onto even one friend for longer than a week. And as high-class as she may be, Emeline to this day is not above swearing at someone if they bother her enough as she does indeed possess quite the mouth.

As daft as she was toward the majority of the world and its fixation on things like emotion, Emeline had always been incredibly insightful when it came to people’s body language. Being hyper-sensitive to such a thing came in handy from time to time, especially when it came to getting what she wanted. Perhaps it wasn’t right of her to do so, but she took advantage of this “ability” on more than one occasion whenever she saw fit.

However, over the years that she’s had time to grow, Emeline has gone from being an emotionally daft woman whose nickname was “The Ice Queen of Fashion” to what could be perceived as a normal woman. In part owed to the births of her children and falling in love with Nikolaus, Emeline has put behind her the reputation she possessed in favour of being disinterested in whether or not the paparazzi happen to catch her running across a football field in her Marc Jacobs heels or walking into a Target lacking make-up and dressed in one of Nikolaus’s t-shirts and a pair of old jeans. Emeline has since become more inclined to offer an incredibly cheesy smile during photo calls, and seems to have developed a taste in testing just how dedicated the paparazzi are.

As time goes on, the shell she had developed as a young girl seems to melt away. Every scandal, every bad thing that the media might have to say about her has all been taken with a grain of salt. Being in that stage in life where everything about it is nothing but joyful to her, Emeline has found some sort of peace in herself. She is at the point that, while she might be a fashion icon and role model for thousands of girls, she is also a mother and lover and there is nothing in the world that comes before either.

[edit] background

Marianne and Jacob Jones had everything that a person could wish for, and more, in a time of drugs and flower power. Jacob’s family had become American oil tycoons, while Marianne came from a French family of politically influential men and women in Europe. The two of them met at an airport in London, where Jacob had been away on business. It was soon after they met that the world was flung into a series of events that would influence and even change the history of the world.

It was shortly after their meeting that the couple married, and immediately began taking hold of whatever left over influence their family had with various companies they could get their hands on. Not long into their marriage, Marianne discovered she was pregnant, and although it did upset her to do so, she willingly put her career on hold when their child was born. Whatever lack of enthusiasm Marianne had for her daughter, Jacob made up for it ten fold. He was the one to choose the name Emeline, and also the one who would become a bigger part of the girl’s life than her own mother. And so it could be said that Emeline’s early years were filled with everything a little girl would ever want from her parents, as she was incredibly spoiled by her father.

Emeline’s life was nothing short of privileged. She had everything at her disposal, and she very nearly got whatever she wanted whenever she pleased. Jacob had made sure that his little princess was never wearing a frown, while Marianne saw to it that her daughter received a proper education and knew just who was really in charge in the Jones household. By the time Emeline was old enough to do mathematics, she was old enough to speak three languages as fluently and easily as any native speaker.

But Marianne was unimpressed, and seemed to know quite well that there was something wrong with her child. Since the time Emeline could walk, Marianne became aware that her emotions were entirely too complex for a child. Namely, Emeline rarely seemed to exhibit even having any at all, and thus led Marianne to believe that something was terribly out of place. Fearful of the family’s reputation, Marianne made it perfectly clear to Emeline that one must conform to the normalities of society in order to be accepted, and made sure that she knew which emotion to feign at what time.

However, when Emeline was preparing for high school, she made a rather strange request to her parents. She insisted that she attend a public school, and when her parents denied her request at first, they found that she could find ways to make them bend to her will by simply not attending her classes, or rebelling constantly against the dress code. So to her parents’ rather vocal dismay, they allowed her to choose a school for herself.

Of course, it goes without saying that Emeline’s “normal” teenage life consisted of the very basic principles that comes with being insanely rich. She was pretty, popular, fashionable and very smart. But it wasn’t as if she truly seemed to care about such attributes, and she didn’t bother identifying herself with one particular group or another. It really depended on how she wanted to present herself on that particular day, and sometimes she chose to dress as high-class as possible and sit down with the social outcasts. It was always a sort of experiment for her, to be so different from the people she sat with from time to time, and there was no denying that she enjoyed it to some degree.

High school flew by quickly for her, and she quickly moved onto college upon its completion. University was hardly much different from high school, and she went through it without a complaint and with nothing but the top grades she could grab for herself. Perhaps the only thing that seemed to be a struggle for her was how different she was from other people. It was becoming harder for her to comply with the lessons her mother had given her as a child, and trying to keep up with people’s turbulent emotions became more of a fight for her as she grew older. Maybe they were just too complex for her, she had decided, and it was this thought process that led to her string of short-time boyfriends and one-night stands.

During one of her nightly cruises through the city, Emeline had managed to make her way into a bar with a small handful of girlfriends. It was at this bar that she happened across a very attractive man. Happened, of course, meaning that this very attractive man had bumped into her, thereby indirectly making her drop her purse. With all its possessions spilled upon the floor, Emeline rightly expected him to drop down and assist her in picking everything up – instead, he continued to walk away, and that was not going to fly in her book. She followed him and demanded that he apologise to her, and even though it took her quite some time to force him to do so, he finally complied.

Yet she wasn’t about to let him off the hook that easily. From the moment she saw him, Emeline had decided that she wanted him, and to be quite frank the “getting angry” thing had been her excuse to scare off any other girls who wanted a go at him. The more she was in his presence, the more he intrigued her with his blasé and disinterested behaviour toward her. In spite of not acquiring the much desired telephone number, Emeline considered herself rather triumphant in a way, and for the first time in a while she was intensely attracted to someone.

Time would go on and she would bump into Louis now and again, and never missed an opportunity to chat him up. This pattern would continue until one day he made a very odd request of her; to meet him at an address he provided on a piece of paper. Curiosity overwhelming the voice in her head that told her he was a psychotic killer, Emeline did as instructed without hesitation, and what she received in turn was some incredible sex. The two of them began to see one another regularly, never really bothering with conversation and diving straight into the physical aspect of their “relationship” more than half the time.

Even as Emeline focused on what Louis did for her physically, she couldn’t help but to notice that her thoughts were slowly becoming more centred on the man himself. What was he doing while she was studying? What was his favourite food? Would he like the black skirt or the red one? It was this sort of thought process that would keep Emeline occupied for some time, and she wouldn’t realise it until much later that she was starting to grow fond and even a little attached to Louis. When she had at last resolved to approach him about such “feelings” (as she did not really believe that’s what they were), she had decided to change their meeting place last-minute, therefore having him accompany her on the walk to said spot.

Before she could even so much as touch upon the subject, the two of them were suddenly approached by a man wielding a gun and demanding their money. It was instinct that made Emeline step behind Louis. They were, after all, walking in the dark and this man must not have been very smart if he was going to challenge someone as big as Louis. But where Emeline expected Louis to rough the mugger up, what she got was something entirely different. Instead, he unexpectedly began to change into something that very clearly wasn’t human. Emeline didn’t have much time to react in-between trying to figure out what happened to Louis and the mugger’s blood-curdling screams of agony as he was being ripped apart. The only thing she could think to do was run as fast as she could in the heels she wore.

Afraid and confused, Emeline had opted to leave the city in favour of moving to another city. Any city would do, really, what with her need to get as far away from Louis as possible. The German city of Berlin was the winning choice, and she promptly packed her things and moved there within a short span of three days. She was determined to purge thoughts of Louis and the mugger from her mind and by God she was going to do whatever it took.

Once she was completed with college, she went straight into the world of the rich and beautiful. There were parties to attend, charities to donate to, and designer clothes to model on occasion. Her father’s influence in society branched on to her, and she became something of a bit of a fashion figure for the younger generation. It was through this connection that she became quite prominent in politics, but she never did seem interested in following their schedule. She had made it quite clear, after all, that there were only so many events she could attend in her father’s name, and if anyone tried to demand anything of her, she would rebel in her own way like the typical spoiled brat.

Sometime during this stage in life, she had come across Kilian Tröger – quite possibly the most important figure on Germany’s political chessboard. While the two of them never became particularly close, she did maintain a sort of strictly business-like friendship with him. Many people expected Emeline and Kilian to hit it off, but instead it was one of his younger brothers that she took an interest in – that being Nikolaus Tröger. He was ten years younger than her, had dreadlocks and wore completely oversized clothes like a little rapper wannabe. His lip was pierced and he played the guitar in some little band that not even Emeline could take seriously, and there was no reason to believe anything ever came of the drink she shared with him one evening. Not even the paparazzi cared enough to stick around. It was probably business-related anyway, they had decided.

It wasn’t until months later and a noticeable baby bump that rumours immediately began to take off. But did anyone suspect that one-night drink with Nikolaus? Apparently not, and it wasn’t like that was any kind of problem for her. She allowed them to come up with their own stories of who the father of her baby was, not willing to comment on it herself and refusing to answer such questions during interviews. Emeline never even bothered giving any of the Trögers a call, and remained perfectly fine in Kilian’s presence even when it was beyond the point of being able to hide her pregnancy.

As is the way in the world of celebrity, Emeline gave birth to her son with the hospital surrounded by people with cameras and various reporters just dying to get the first image of the bastard child. Even now, she didn’t bother giving anyone any information about the child’s father, instead opting to allowing a few reporters to take snapshots of herself and her newborn, Lucas, just weeks after his birth.

In spite of whatever damage her reputation suffered with having a bastard child, Emeline seemed perfectly content with her life as a mother. Although she remained as fashionable and gorgeous as ever, it wasn’t long before she was seen playing with remote-control cars and soccer balls with Lucas. She seemed incredibly determined to be a good mother, and there wasn’t much that could dissuade her from her duties as “mummy.” She had a few relationships here and there with both men and women that became relatively important in Lucas’ life, but they never lasted very long, and she didn’t seem interested in dedicating herself solely to one person. After all, why would she want to introduce some stranger into Lucas’s life when she knows perfectly well who his actual father is?

But the fact remained that someone was eventually going to put the pieces together, and on principle she couldn’t keep Lucas’s father a secret from him. After a very long and strenuous debate with herself, Emeline finally approached Nikolaus before Lucas’s fourth birthday. What she expected to be a conversation filled with denials and inevitable running away turned into one wherein Nikolaus accepted responsibility and was even eager to meet his then three-year-old son. His enthusiasm was met with relief and some form of contentment from Emeline, and the three of them very quickly became something of an odd family (unless someone were to mention this, of course, in which case both Emeline and Nikolaus would distance themselves from one another for a time).

As swimmingly as life was going for the three, it didn’t seem as though it was done taking its turns and by the time Christmas rolled around, she discovered she was pregnant yet again. Perhaps it was a bit of a relief for her to know that Nikolaus was once again the father, but her relief quickly wore off when it was discovered she was carrying twins, and giving birth to them would likely kill her – if she made it that far into the pregnancy. Emeline wasn’t sure what to think, or what to feel, though she took the news with stride. Before long, there was talk of abortions and how best to handle such a scandal with the press. But just as the plan had been set in stone, Emeline had a very sudden, very abrupt change of heart, and adamantly refused to go through with it.

She supposed that ending the lives of her unborn children was something she could never forgive herself for. Now and again she would regret her decision, especially when she would awaken in the middle of the night from the babies moving around so much. She struggled through her pregnancy and on more than one occasion had been rushed to the hospital from either a false alarm or the sudden inability to move her body. The months dragged on, with some days being more painful than others, but she fought through it all with sheer determination. She would not allow her unborn children or herself to die.

Yet even Emeline could not force herself to let go of whatever stress came at her. The media had gone into a frenzy before about Nikolaus being Lucas’s father, the fact that he was exactly ten years her youth becoming an enormous scandal. The entire thing very nearly cost her career, and she would have lost everything had her father not been there to support her. News of her second pregnancy with the same “boy’s” children spread like wildfire before she even had a chance to tell her own father. Being under constant pressure both personally and professionally proved to be too much for her, and without warning, she went into labour mid-press conference.

At first doctors assumed that it had been false labour, but when the normal signs of childbirth continued, they promptly set to work attempting to help her deliver the twins without losing one of them… or all of them, for that matter. Emeline refused a caesarean section, for a scar was something much too dreadful, no matter what the doctor tried to tell her, and opted instead to give birth to her children the natural way – with drugs. Of course, after her first baby was born, it was obvious to even herself that she could not muster the strength to push anymore, and she finally submitted to a caesarean section for the second. This stubbornness had nearly cost her life, to the point where her heart stopped beating for more than a minute following the birth of the twins. Exhaustion had overcome her easily, and she would remain unconscious for nearly a full twelve hours.

The twins were alive, however, even though they were placed in incubators due to how early they were. When Emeline’s strength had finally returned to her, she was constantly at their sides, holding the two of them in her arms whenever she could. Strong as she seemed on the outside, it was on the inside that she was silently begging them not to die. Her pleading and long hours of just holding them in her arms and being at their sides seemed to help, for as the weeks rolled on slowly they were becoming more and more healthy. It wasn’t long before Nikolaus and Emeline were able to hold their daughters for longer than an hour. The two of them quickly decided on names for the girls, those being Lily and Lucy.

Joyous as this news was, Emeline couldn’t shake how it felt to almost die and how very afraid she had been during childbirth. She had been afraid before with Lucas, but never had she fallen unconscious nor did her heart ever stop beating when she had given birth to him. She had never been so forcefully confronted with her mortality before, and the prospects of growing old and dying was more terrifying than it had ever been. For some time, Emeline was so occupied with her fear that she could barely be happy for her children or Nikolaus. Somehow, the thought of Louis came back into her mind. He had been a werewolf, hadn’t he? He was going to stay young and beautiful forever, and she was going to grow old and die unless…

But the very thought of willingly allow herself to be in a position where she bursts into fur every full moon made Emeline cringe, and she very swiftly put that idea out of her mind. There was no way she was going to go through with that, thanks very much, but she did want to find a way to remain how she was forever. So for the first time in a very, very long time Emeline entered a library and began to research things from Iðunn to the Fountain of Youth. It wasn‘t until she came across someone who plainly directed her in the direction of one Charre Tangvald.

So it was in Charre Tangvald that Emeline willingly consulted about eternal youth. The woman explained to her the dangers of her request, the fact that her children, friends and family would grow old and die while she lived on to carry that pain. Yet Emeline ignored her hesitations when confronted with this, and would not yield. Her form of payment was arranged, that being her designing Charre clothing whenever the witch wanted for as long as the both of them lived, and her request was granted. Emeline would remain thirty years old for the rest of her life. However, just before she had her request granted, Charre revealed to Emeline that she was pregnant once again. The catch was this: her baby was more than likely going to die before it was born due to the irreparable damage her body had suffered when carrying and birthing the twins.

Suddenly her request grew beyond merely not wanting to grow old. Never the woman who enjoyed the thought of losing a child, she asked Charre to spare her unborn child somehow. The witch responded with a pendant and the single instruction that came with it: never remove it under any circumstances. The purpose of the pendant was to protect both Emeline and her baby until it was born. And so Emeline took the magical trinket and went on her way, opting to wait until her child was born before she went back to get her stopper on aging. All she had to worry about then was informing Nikolaus of their new upcoming baby… thankfully for her, the only reaction she received was a series of facial expressions and a casual shrug.

The months rolled on and as her baby grew, she was happy to discover that this pregnancy involved much less pain than her last. Her doctors were beyond baffled over her miraculous pregnancy, however, and therefore required visits every three weeks. But both she and her baby were perfectly healthy every time. With the exception of Levi being nearly four weeks late, everything about her pregnancy was smooth, including the labour and delivery

Life went on as normal, Emeline having decided to not divulge her secret to anyone in or out of her family. She had very happy children, and the fact that she now had two little girls to spoil rotten filled Emeline with an immense amount of joy. As time went on, her very serious demeanour melted away slowly, and she went from being that stoic wax figure on the runway to a woman who was very inclined to whip out a camera and take photos of the paparazzi while telling them she would smile if they did. It wasn‘t long before people would see her running across football fields with her son and Nikolaus, or throwing a faux fashion show for Lily and Lucy. Emeline‘s „lack of emotions“ had diminished by the time all of her children were in school, and she even found that she cared more for Nikolaus than she had thought before.

But as her children and lover grew older, it was very obvious to some that Emeline was not doing the same. She remained as beautiful and youthful as she had when her daughters were born, with the occasional different hairstyle and fashion sense now and again. Suspicions of her using botox and undergoing surgery became numerous until she very blandly informed them she‘d not divulge her secret to staying young. Now and again the press would become obsessed with her age and appearance, but it never seemed to last very long. It was perhaps luck that she didn‘t change, seeing as she had quickly become a figurehead in the world of fashion and a role model to thousands of women around the world. From Japan to South America, Emeline Jones‘ name became synonymous with fashion.

[edit] → relationships

[edit] family

  • Jacob Jones — Father, alive and residing in London. Emeline was and still is Jacob’s little princess. If ever she’s in a jam or even so much as hints that she wants something, Jacob will not hesitate to do whatever it takes to make her happy. They keep in constant contact, and his habit of spoiling Emeline has filtered down to his grandchildren.
  • Marianne Jones — Mother, alive and living in London. They do not get along in the very least. Ever since Emeline was a little girl, Marianne has been cold and distant from her daughter, and this distance became more prominent as she grew older. When Lucas was born, Marianne attempted to reconcile with her daughter by serving as punisher for the household. It wasn’t until Nikolaus’s entrance in Emeline’s life that she went back to being a passing thought for Emeline. Now they very rarely talk, much less see one another.
  • Nikolaus Tröger — A one night stand with him twenty years ago led to the birth of Lucas, and eventual reunion when she informed him of his son’s existence. Not even a year after their reunion and she would give birth to their daughters. At first, Emeline was incredibly hesitant to yield to whatever feelings she thought she may have had for the younger man, and kept in his company for her children’s sake. As the years would go on, she would begin to recognise that she was indeed falling for him, and before long she stopped trying to resist. She adores him, and he has become the only person she feels safest.
  • Lucas Jones-Tröger — There’s no doubt that her oldest son is someone that she loves very dearly. She had been hesitant to go through with having him when pregnant, but never once has she looked back with regret. It’s quite clear that her son is the biggest Momma’s Boy to ever walk the earth, and she has no qualms with that whatsoever. Although he seemed to have developed a taste for making her cringe with his terrible sense of fashion and disgustingly messy hair, she can’t help but to love him. They don’t really talk as much as they used to, as Emeline has the very innate ability to read his emotions like a book and he can simply communicate with her mentally.
  • Lily Jones-Tröger — The older of the twins, Lily is the more fashionable of the two, and therefore the one Emeline can go on massive shopping sprees with. Lily and Emeline’s relationship has grown from being mother-daughter to BFF ever since the girl was old enough to walk. Emeline designs her clothing and hairstyles, and the girl has more shoes and accessories than a girl could dream up.
  • Lucy Jones-Tröger — The youngest of the girls, Emeline realised long ago that Lucy inherited more of Nikolaus’s mannerisms than her own. Lucy doesn’t appear to be too terribly concerned with her appearance, though she does allow her mother to dress her up now and again. While they aren’t as close as Emeline would like because the child is very clearly Daddy’s Princess, Emeline still does what she can to make sure Lucy knows how much she loves her.
  • Levi Jones-Tröger — The baby of their babies, Emeline and Nikolaus did what they could not to give him special treatment just because he was the youngest. Levi is the son she can actually use as an “experiment subject” for designs she does for men, and she quite enjoys that fact very much. She recognises his love for sports and supports the fact that he plays for his school.
  • Chewbacca Jones-Tröger — The Great Dane Nikolaus simply had to have, Emeline was never much of a dog person in her youth. But she also didn’t expect to love Chewbacca as much as she does now. She has moments where she baby-talks Chewbacca and sometimes spoils him more than her own children.

[edit] friends

[edit] undecided

  • Louis — She hasn’t thought about him for years.

[edit] other

  • Wilhelm Tröger — Nikolaus's twin, Emeline isn't quite sure what to make of Wilhelm. At times, she finds him interesting enough to tolerate, while at others she would much rather not see him. He visits their home on a regular basis, something that she prefers he not do. In spite of this, she tries to treat him like she would her own family, and keeps her dislike for him secret to herself seeing as her kids seem fond of their strange uncle.
  • Samantha Smith — Emeline's personal assistant, one could easily say that it's easy for Emeline to walk all over this poor girl. She appears to lack very much self-confidence and is often times left to take care of a million things at once when Emeline is simply too busy. While she seems to have a decent amount of enthusiasm for her job, she doesn't approve of many of the things Emeline chooses to do, but rarely speaks up.
  • Anthony Stark — Quite possibly one of the few people she can honestly trust with her life, Anthony isn't a friend so much as he is a lifeline. He has so far protected her and her son from stalkers, death threats, and even an assassination attempt. She greatly appreciates everything Anthony does for her, and his advice is the only kind she can take to heart. However, she has moments where she must do things her way or there will be hell to pay.

[edit] Miscellaneous

[edit] → random facts

[edit] personal

  • Emeline cannot drive very well in America as she is so used to driving in Europe. Highways are especially difficult for her.
  • She torments her PA for the sake of doing so sometimes. The girl really needs to lighten up and grow a backbone one day, honestly.
  • Her favourite hobby is dressing her family in high-fashion clothing. She designs and has most of these garments made exclusively for them.

[edit] familial

  • Nikolaus is the only man she feels totally safe around, and the only one she'd willingly admit to being in love with.
  • She constantly plays with Lucas’s hair and is always trying to convince him to cut it off. Much to her dismay, this only seems to make him more inclined to keep it long and uncombed.
  • It should go without saying that she and Nikolaus have an amazing sex life.
  • Interestingly enough, Emeline tends to get very stiff and somewhat cold toward women who express interest in Nikolaus in spite of the couple deviating from one another now and again. Her poor PA happens to be one of those women who suffers from the cold shoulder from time to time.

[edit] professional

  • She owns her own fashion line called "signature", of which she does all the designs herself. This particular line is very expensive to buy from, with the cheapest clothing being priced at a whopping $1,500 and the largest size being 12.
  • Through Nikolaus' own production company, Emeline had a very brief stint with life as a singer. It was relatively successful, but it only took one #1 hit to sate her desire to continue the lifestyle. Singing only for her family was much more fun in any case.
  • Emeline has been connected to big names in fashion such as Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and Dior. For every company that she comes in contact with, she inevitably ends up representing them by wearing their clothing with the only requirement being that she get to keep the clothing they ask her to wear for free.
  • Combining her parents' and her would-be husband's, Emeline's net worth ranges somewhere between $100 million, making her one of the wealthiest women in the world.
