eden CHEVAL
and i'd wish the sun would never come
maybe i'll never see you smile again
maybe you thought that it was all pretend;
all these words that i could never say
i just let them slip away

personality
Not many people may understand what makes Eden tick at first. Many have made the mistake that he is incredibly complex and deeply thoughtful. While he is indeed quite the introvert, if one happened to be a telepath of some kind they might be surprised to learn he rarely thinks about things beyond what kind of doughnut he’ll buy that day. There may be other, more “deep” thoughts may be buried in his head, the reasons for such mundane thinking are unclear, although it may be due in part to his Black Suit conditioning. Whatever the case may be, Eden is not all that he initially appears.
As a man who is very much comfortable in the confines of his own mind, Eden rarely expresses much more emotion than is necessary to those he doesn’t know though he sometimes even shields himself from even his most trusted friends. Due to the line of work he’s in, Eden rarely cracks a smile, much less a shadow of a grin, and there has only been a select few who have had a chance to see that side of him. Even when he is in the presence of those he may go so far as to call family, Eden has trouble expressing whatever he may feel or think to them.
There have been many tragedies in his lifetime that has attributed to what he has become now, but there’s no one alive who knows about any of them. As closed off as he is, and as many babies he’s killed, it really doesn’t make him as heartless or ruthless as most might assume when they take a peek at his job description. Though they are few, there are still people that Eden would do anything in his power for so long as it doesn’t mean going against the World Government. Where he is dedicated to his friends and family, he is incredibly steadfast to the Government and would sooner end even his best friend’s life than betray the people he works for.
Yet there are still times, rare as they may be, in which he is able to let his wall of defence down and allow a smile to shatter that mask of indifference. It really isn’t that hard to do, either, if one knows Eden well enough. An elaborate act of selflessness, or perhaps a simple smile may just be the key of winning him over – also, doughnuts. Those lucky enough to see the less-stoic side of Eden are kept closer to his heart than even his arteries, and that is surely saying something for the solemn Black Suit.

family
- Marcus Cheval — Father, deceased. He was incredibly aloof to his wife and son until the day he died. Eden doesn't actually know much about him, so it's safe to say the two of them barely interacted.
- Maria Cheval — Mother, deceased. In spite of the neglect she dealt to him throughout his childhood, the two of them were surprisingly close in recent years. She tried to make up for her screwups in not being involved in his life and he visited her regularly and did what he can to ensure she's comfortable before her untimely death.
- Vivienne Cheval — Sister, deceased. She died before she had even lived, and for that Eden is only mildly sad. In secret, he rather she be dead than grow up with a murderer for an older brother.
friends
- Gabriel Crawford — A man that Eden is unbelievably close to, Gabriel is one of the very few people whose attitude he can tolerate. There are times where he absolutely has no idea why he likes Gabriel as much as he does, and he therefore finds himself wondering just how long it'll be before he's admitted into an asylum. Still, he's one of his very few living friends, and there's only one other person he'd consider as close to him as Gabriel is.
- Charre Tangvald — She is honestly the number one cause of sexual frustration with him, but he still suffers with her presence for whatever reason. Charre is one of those few people that's seen beneath that mask of no emotion he constantly wears, and as such is one of the few he trusts more than himself. The two of them are probably thought to be banging from time to time by their peers, but it doesn't really matter to Eden one way or another. Charre is a special woman to him, and there's very little he wouldn't do for her – not that she needs anything, really, but still.
- Eric Dunstan — Completing the triquetra that is Eden's best friends is Eric, a man that Eden should by no means tolerate nearly as much as he does. Eric was with him when he was ordered to kill Jacob Hart, and one of his main forms of support when he was determined to ensure Scout and her brother lived. They've been best friends for a long time, and it suffices to say that his sudden disappearance some months back shook Eden up more than he'd admit.
- Ethan Freeman — Missing.
questionable
- Kiaran Hurst — A young man that Eden met two years ago, their initial meeting involved a grenade and two of Eden's co-workers being blown to smithereens while he himself managed to avoid injuries. As he made his escape, the young psycho caught up with him and chatted him up, leaving Eden little choice but to comply with him until he was able to get away. While he intended to avoid The Wasteland Butcher after that, he returned to his home with a rather unexpected surprise – said Butcher waiting for him. Instead of killing him, however, he seemed more intrigued at how Eden managed to survive than what his innards looked like. Over the time they've gotten to know one another, they've developed a strangely interesting father-son relationship of some kind. In spite of his training, his moral compass seems to be a bit shotty when it comes to Kiaran, and he has since managed to frustrate himself by worrying for not only his friends but the Butcher as well whenever there's some skirmish going on between the Raiders and Black Suits.
other
- Scout Freeman — Quite possibly the only woman he has ever truly loved, Scout was always someone he admired. She was strong and determined, and she knew what she wanted in life. Try as he did, he couldn't help from falling in love with her within the short span of knowing her during her first few months as a Black Suit. Her reasons for defecting from the Government are reasons he places blame on himself for, and thought it to be his responsibility to ensure she remained alive rather than killed off for her betrayal. As such, he pleaded with the Government's most prominent members in order to save her life, subsequently putting himself on the thin line between useful and, well, not.
- Phoebe Hart — Source of some angst.
- Jacob Hart — Deceased.
