personality
Henri in a nutshell is a smart, quiet, respectful and all around, a good guy. He's one of those type of people that is just really hard to find a reason to not to get along with them. He's constantly always trying to help people before he does something for himself and will always put other peoples needs before his own. While not painfully innocent, he's the type to avoid situations that could turn awkward and make him feel uncomfortable. Henri's the type of person to sit at home with a good book rather that go out and socialize with people. He's on the quiet side and he'd rather just observe people while he's out and about rather than talk to them.
While he's an accomplished author and has many fans, he doesn't see why. He writes from his heart and he doesn't see the big deal to his books even though people (mostly women) love them. Henri loves the books he writes and loves what he does but he doesn't see how other people can love them just as much. He's the type of man that will help old ladies cross the street or carry their heavy groceries to their home. He'll give you the shirt off his own back if it would help you some how. No matter what the cost, Henri is the person who will go to the ends of the earth to help someone dear to him. This, however, leads Henri to be taken advantage of a lot and he just doesn't seem to learn that not all people who ask for help deserve it.
abilities
EMPATHY – Henri can sense emotions from other people by just being near them for a certain amount of time or by touching them. It doesn't happen all the time but when a particular emotion is very strong, he can pick up on it and his mood changes along with it. He's a sensitive person, therefore his moods change extremely easily which is really a negative. It interferes with his writing a lot, which is why he holds himself up in his apartment when trying to write. It's caused by the slight genetic mutation in his mother due to the fact that his grand parents were exposed to radiation prior to fleeing from South Korea to Paris.
history
Henri was born to a French father named Jean and a half British, half Korean mother named Émilie in Paris, France. At an early age, he was taught how to be a perfect little gentleman and always seemed to impress his mothers friends with his selflessness and urge to help around their small home. He wasn't from some horrible broken home. His childhood was probably as normal as one could be in these times. He wasn't alone of course. Shortly after he turned five, his mother gave birth to his little brother who they named after his maternal grandfather, Donghae. They ended up just calling him 'Sea' though. Along with his little brother, Henri also had an older sister. True, she was only a year older than him but she used that to her advantage as much as she could. Which often made Henri do most of the petty chores around the house. He did them happily though, since he loved Holly very much and really, they were just simple chores.
As Henri grew up, he came to realize something. The more he was around people, the more he realized that he felt, well, a little funny. If someone was particularly angry (like Holly when she dumped another one of her boyfriends) or a little melancholy (like Sea, who tended to be a little pessimistic at times for no reason), he'd end up having the same kind of feelings bubble within him. It didn't matter if he was happy or not. His feelings just melded and became whatever their feeling was. He couldn't explain it but he didn't really bother with it. He just distanced himself from people if he felt that a particular feeling was strong.
His sister Holly had been the one to get him into writing and was constantly the one encouraging him to read his pieces out loud. Most were funny but it seemed like the writing pieces that meant something to him and his sister were the ones that left them feeling just a little more blue after completion. While they both were from a rather normal family, Henri had a knack for writing stories that just tugged at the heartstrings. His first piece was published at the age of 17 in a magazine. It had been the first story he had ever written that made him cry and apparently, it made lots of women cry as well.
This was the beginning of his career in what would be something that would turn out to be something that Henri dreamed of becoming since he was 10. This also was the beginning of something even Henri couldn't handle. Fans. Fangirls. What have you. People who make snazzy gestures to him when they see him or approach him for a photograph or autograph. They scare him just a little.

family
Jean Michel – Father. Alive. (57). One of the happiest people Henri has ever known. His father is his hero and Henri wouldn't have it any other way. They like to play basketball most of the time and despite Jean's age, he still kicks Henri's ass at it.
Émilie Kwon-Michel – Mother. Alive. (54). Probably the strongest woman that Henri will ever know. He loves his mother dearly and loves her cooking as well. She may have the rather abusive Asian mother tendencies (hitting him with anything she has her hands on) but he knows she means well. Adores her and looks up to her.
Holly Michel – Older Sister. Alive. (28). The instigator of his writing career. She is a vibrant, outspoken and opinionated person which makes Henri proud to be her brother and a little worried for her, especially with this government. She is the basis of many of his characters, whether main or supporting.
Donghae 'Sea' Michel – Younger Brother. Alive. (22). Probably his best friend. Sea is someone Henri can go to so that he can just vent and get all of his frustrations out on. He bounces ideas for stories off of him and hardly ever fights with him. Thinks he a little too mopey at times but loves him anyway.
friends
Adele Hertz – A fine woman. He met her at a function and they've been friends since. Henri thinks she's probably one of the most beautiful women he's ever met and it's his pleasure to know her. She's probably the one person he can call his best friend and adores her like no other. May or may not love or have some sort of romantic interest in her. If he does, he'll never tell her. Made his affections for her known on his birthday ♥.
Kilian Tröger – One of his closer friends. Henri met Kilian at a big celebrity type deal function, sensing that the other wasn't too keen on being there himself. He thinks Kilian is a great friend and a strong person especially during these times.
Emeline Jones – An extremely beautiful woman that happens to be a fan of his books. She wanted to meet him and there wasn't any way that Henri could say no. He finds her sophisticated and she's very dear to him as well as her son Lucas. Henri adores the little boy and often looks after him when Emeline asks.
Vincent Alkaev – He's probably the most protective of this guy besides Adele. Vincent's a pretty close friend of his and he often gets into a 'protective father' mode when something goes wrong with him. His mother though loves to stuff Vincent with food because she thinks he's way too skinny for his own good :|.

Aimée Bertrand – The first woman he ever loved. His high school sweet heart since his second year. She was incredibly special to him and he loved her with all his heart. She was his first for everything and they were constantly seen together. When Henri turned 22 and after his first book made it big (the lead was named after her and the book was dedicated to her), he proposed. She accepted and Henri possibly couldn't be any happier. However, when the wedding day came, the bride didn't. Aimée left him at the alter and had run off somewhere. His heart and world was shattered and he found himself unable to write for months. Henri hasn't heard from her or seen her since.
